3STUTOR® rockfall drape system allows protecting large slope areas and cliffs composed by highly degraded rocks that show highly risk of falling rocks. The main application field of these systems is focused on places where, because of their characteristic and location (height and accessibility) is very difficult, not efficient or very expensive the installation of rockfall barriers or flexible slope stabilization systems.
Range of 3STUTOR® rockfall drape system
These systems are composed by a protection and guidance surface made of the high tensile strength and low structural deformation wire mesh type 3STUTOR® Plus. This steel wire mesh is fixed in the top of the slope and it is extended along the job area. In this way, due to its high tensile and punching strength, it allows the guidance of rockfalls to the safety catchment surface area located in the bottom part of the slope or cliff.
With the objective to efficiently satisfy requirements demanded by each client, 3SGEOTECH® offers a wide range of 3STUTOR® rockfall drape system depending on conditions of the location (height and inclination of slope and diameter of the block falling).

Maximum efficiency and security
3STUTOR® rockfall drape system is a simple and economic solution by itself to the slope protection. However, it can be combined with additional components to increase the efficiency and security of the system designed by 3SGEOTECH®.
1. Rockfall keeper or rockfall barrier installed on the top of the slope. Both solutions are composed by galvanized steel posts anchored to the ground and fixed by uphill steel cables. They should catch and guide rockfall downhill in locations where there are potential rockfall coming from upper areas.
2. Catchment bag composed by the 3STUTOR® Plus wire mesh combined with steel cables, flexible anchors and optionally energy dissipaters. This solution can be installed in locations where there is no possible to leave the material to fall down out to the foot of the slope. In this way 3STUTOR® rockfall drape system can be complemented with a catchment bag which contains the rockfalls from the cliff and upslope hillside. The design of the catchment bag allows making a regular maintenance and an easy emptied when the bag is full.
