3SGEOTECH® debris flow protection systems have been designed with the main objective to stop and retain material as rocks, mud and vegetation carried by flowing water in narrow ravines and canyons during intensive and heavy rain or snow thawing events.
The main component of these systems is the catchment surface which is installed in a special structure composed by energy dissipaters, steel cables and anchors and even steel posts. The catchment surface should contain the solid material mixed inside the flowing water.
Systems according to demanded requirements
3SGEOTECH® offers a wide range of debris flow protection systems against debris flow able to overcome any requirement. In this way, depending on specific characteristics of each jobsite, the system should be specifically designed and adapted to the local requirements: system's dimensions and geometry, type of catchment surface and dimensions of the components.
As main catchment surface for 3SGEOTECH® debris flow protection system the following flexible membranes can be used:
